Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins 391 pgs.

It's back to the games for Katniss Everdeen. Catching Fire, by Suzanne Collins, is the sequel to The Hunger Games series that is a dystopian young adult fiction. Now 17-year-old Katniss Everdeen is a victor of the Hunger Games, probably the most horrifying thing in Panem, but not to the Capitol. The two "lovers," Peeta and Katniss, are on their victory tours where a couple deaths happen. Katniss and Peeta are to be married, when the news of The Quarter Quell, a Hunger Games tradition for every 25 years, arrives. Katniss and Peeta are to be in them again, but only one will survive, and Katniss is willing to give up her life to save Peeta. During Katniss's "talk" with Caesar Flickerman, Katniss is in her bridal gown, which was created by her stylist Cinna, and spins, thus turning into the Mockingjay, a symbol of rebellion. When it is time for the games, Peacekeepers drag Cinna away, after beating him up, right in front of Katniss's eyes. Katniss is up against many people, like, 24-year-old Finnick Odair, an elderly woman named Mags, and many others. But, when Katniss broke away the force field in the games by shooting her arrow, she is taken away by a hovercraft, along with Finnick, Haymitch, Plutarch and Beetee. Unfortunately, Peeta and Johanna were taken by the Capitol. Gale, Katniss's best friend and "cousin," tells her that her home district, District 12 was destroyed, and luckily, her sister and mother got out safely. Katniss is horrified, and wonders what will await her in District 13.............Find out in Mockingjay.
